Creating your first product

Every product starts the same way. Go to Products → Create product in the sidebar, or open Products → All products and click New product.

Step 1: choose a type

The wizard asks what you want to create and shows eight product types. Each card describes what the type does before you decide:

• Course, for structured modules and lessons with progress tracking and drip content.
• Ebook, for a single PDF that members read in the browser.
• Downloads, for a bundle of files of any type.
• Podcast, for a private, members-only audio feed.
• Coaching, for session-based work with your clients.
• Community, for a space where members post and talk to each other.
• Newsletter, for a paid or members-only publication.
• Lead magnet, for a free gift in exchange for an email address. This type can never have a price.

Click Get started on the type you choose.

Step 2: fill in the details

Give the product a title and an optional description, pick a thumbnail from your media library and set the theme and accent colours. For Ebook, Downloads and Lead magnet you can attach files straight away. An ebook takes one PDF; the other two take up to twenty files.

A draft is a safe place

Every new product starts as a draft. Nothing reaches members until you click Publish in the product header. The draft is where you build in peace.

Some types set themselves up

Creating a Community product also creates the community that product delivers. Creating a Newsletter creates the publication along with its subscriber list. Creating a Course also generates a companion landing page, a sign-up page and a draft email, so you don’t start from a blank page.

What’s next, depending on the type

Courses open on the Curriculum tab, file products on the Files tab, podcasts on Episodes and coaching on Sessions. You set the price on the Pricing tab and grant access from the Customers tab.
