How to build a course

A course is made of modules, and modules are made of lessons. Open your course and stay on the Curriculum tab. Type a name into the add-module field and click Add module. Inside each module, use the add-lesson field to add more lessons. If you don’t have a course product yet, start with Creating your first product.

You change the order by dragging. Drag lessons within a module or into another module, and drag modules to reorder them. Each lesson row also has a duplicate button that copies the lesson with all its content as a new draft.

You build lessons from blocks

Open a lesson to go into the editor, then add blocks in any order:

Video, from your media library or a pasted YouTube or Vimeo link.
Text, written content with basic HTML allowed.
Image, PDF and Audio, each picked from your media library.
Embed, for a pasted URL.
Quiz, with single- or multiple-choice questions, a pass mark as a percentage and an option to require the quiz before the lesson counts as complete.
Assignment, with instructions and an answer type: text, an uploaded file or both. Submissions collect under the block, and you can open or download what learners hand in.

Blocks can be reordered and deleted.

Draft and publish on three levels

The product, each module and each lesson have their own Publish and Unpublish toggle. A lesson only reaches members when the lesson itself, its module and the product are all published. That means you can launch the course while the last module is still being built.

Drip content

The schedule panel in the lesson editor decides when a lesson opens. Choose from: Available immediately, After a set number of days from joining, or On a specific date. The days count from the moment that person got access, so everyone moves at their own pace.

Comments

Comments are controlled on two levels. On the product’s Customisation tab, the Enable comments and Lock all comments toggles set the default for the whole course. Each lesson can then override it: Use product setting, Visible, Locked (read-only) or Hidden.
