Uploading and organising media

The Media library in your dashboard menu stores every file you upload. Upload once, use everywhere.

Uploading files

Click Upload media. The window shows a drop zone: drag your files in or click to choose them from your computer. You can drop several files at once, each one uploads with its own progress bar, and you can add more while they’re uploading. When you’re finished, click Done.

What you can upload

Four types of file, matching the tabs on the toolbar:

  • Images: JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP, SVG and AVIF.
  • Video: MP4, WebM and QuickTime (MOV).
  • Audio: MP3.
  • Files: PDF.

Anything else is rejected. There’s also a size limit per file and an overall storage limit, both described in the article on file storage and deletion.

Finding files

The toolbar gives you several tools you can combine:

  • Tabs: All, Images, Video, Audio, Files.
  • Search media, which narrows the files shown on the current page by name.
  • Filter, which opens a panel with Extension (only the ones you’ve actually uploaded), Tags and Lists options. Click Apply filters, or Clear to reset. The badge on the button counts the active filters.
  • Column sorting: click Title, Type, Size or Date added, and click again to reverse the order.

Tags and lists

These are two ways to group files, shared with other parts of the dashboard. Open the “…” menu on a row and choose Edit tags or Add to list. In the window you can tick existing items, or type a new name and add it on the spot. You can then filter tagged files from the toolbar. You manage the full sets in the tags and lists sections.

The file page

Click any row to open the file’s screen. You’ll see a full preview, its tags and lists side by side, and an Info panel with the date added, last change, type, extension, size and, for images, dimensions. The actions menu offers Rename, Download and Delete file.

Renaming

Rename changes only the display name. The file’s address never changes, so renaming won’t break any page that already uses it.
